The Costa County Public Defender's office recognizes the complex challenges presented in cases involving forensic evidence, and specializes in addressing these issues.  Rebecca Brackman is our in house forensics-resource attorney and she has specialized training and experience in forensic science topics, such as DNA, ballistics, pathology, arson and fingerprints.  Ms. Brackman consults with colleagues, conducts trainings, works with experts and develops resources related to these many areas of forensic evidence.  She has a caseload consisting primarily of serious felonies with a focus on forensic evidence -- including homicides, capital cases, and sexual assaults.
